Maybe not quite as good as Ices Cubes day on 30th November 1988, as he later described in his 1993 cross over hit 'it was a good day' (and definitely not as good as the third verse) - but still it was a good day -
Today was the day we lodged the building consent fot the new place.
Let the 20 statutory day processing time begin.

What we were thinking.
We wanted a cheap piece of land to test the theory.
It was late 2010, we were young, the worlds economy was still in freefall, we found a place on trademe - 820m2 in Onehunga, with an existing subdivision consent, a few sheds, and a 1950s cottage. How hard could it be.

One of our long time readers was asking us what a flashing is - it’s the thing in this image

MW signs his life away
One of the down sides to not being registered is that I can't call my self an architect, and the other is I can't sign off the building consent drawings (which should be lodged later this week). Malcolm has kindly agreed to sign the memorandum from licensed building practitioner of design works on my behalf - its amazing how far a bottle of Talisker can get you in life.
Also - for those of you wondering how high our flashing are - refer postit.
